Tenerife golf courses map
Tenerife has nine golf courses: six in the south and south-west, where the weather is most reliable, and three in the north. The map shows where each one is; the numbers match the list below.
The nine courses
Buenavista Golf
Buenavista del Norte, north-west. 18 holes, par 72.
Designed by Severiano Ballesteros and opened in 2003, on the coast at the north-western tip of the island.
Real Club de Golf de Tenerife
Tacoronte (El Peñón), north. 18 holes, par 71.
Founded in 1932, the oldest golf club on the island, in the green hills of the north near the capital.
Golf La Rosaleda
Puerto de la Cruz, north. 9 holes.
A short course in the Orotava valley, suited to practice and beginners.
Abama Golf
Guía de Isora, south-west. 18 holes, par 72.
Designed by Dave Thomas and opened in 2005, on the slopes above the Abama resort with views to La Gomera. It has hosted Challenge Tour and Ladies European Tour events.
Golf Costa Adeje
Adeje, south-west. 27 holes: an 18-hole championship course (par 72) and the 9-hole Los Lagos course.
Designed by José Gancedo and opened in 1998, in the hills above Costa Adeje. It hosted the Canarias Open de España in 2003 and two European Tour events in 2021.
Golf Las Américas
Arona, south. 18 holes, par 72.
Opened in 1998 on the edge of Playa de las Américas, within easy reach of the main resorts.
Golf Los Palos
Arona, south. 9 holes.
A short course near Guaza, close to Los Cristianos and Palm Mar.
Amarilla Golf
San Miguel de Abona, south-east. 18 holes.
Designed by Donald Steel and opened in 1989, beside the sea, next to Golf del Sur and near Tenerife South airport.
Golf del Sur
San Miguel de Abona, south-east. 18 holes, par 72.
Opened in 1987, designed by José "Pepe" Gancedo and later remodelled by Manuel Piñero, with black lava bunkers. It hosted the Tenerife Open on the European Tour several times. The course was reduced from 27 holes to 18 in 2021.
